I Will be teaching Professional Cinematography
As a personal coach, I’m always looking for ways to expand my perspective and develop new skills. Recently, I embarked on a personal adventure – a photography class! It might seem unexpected, but I believe there’s a surprising amount of synergy between coaching and capturing a great image.
In this class, I’m diving deep into the technical aspects of photography – understanding aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and how they work together to create the perfect exposure. It’s a fascinating journey, learning how these settings can completely transform a photograph. But beyond the technical skills, there’s a whole other world of composition, lighting, and capturing the essence of a moment.
Much like in coaching, where I help clients see their potential from a different angle, photography is about guiding the viewer’s eye. It’s about using light, shadow, and composition to tell a story, to evoke an emotion. It’s a constant exercise in observation, in truly seeing the world around me with fresh eyes.
This class is also reminding me of the importance of patience and practice. Great photos aren’t always the result of a lucky shot. They take time, experimentation, and a willingness to learn from mistakes. It’s a humbling process, but one that I’m thoroughly enjoying.
I’m excited to see where this photography journey takes me. Who knows, maybe I’ll incorporate it into my coaching practice somehow, helping clients see themselves in a new light – quite literally!
